Privacy Policy

What this policy covers
This policy explains what information Downvido processes when you use the site, including the video-download tool, and what it does not collect.
Links you submit
When you paste a video link into Downvido, that link is sent to our server so it can be validated and processed. Submitted links are used only to fetch the corresponding public video information and are not sold, shared with advertisers, or used to build a profile of you.
What we don't collect
Downvido does not require an account, so we don't collect names, email addresses, or passwords through the download tool itself. We don't ask for payment information, and we don't request access to your own social media accounts.
Technical and analytics data
Like most websites, our hosting provider may log basic technical information (such as IP address and request timing) for security and reliability purposes, including rate limiting abusive traffic. If analytics are enabled, only coarse, privacy-respecting product events are tracked — such as a link being submitted, or a download option being shown — never the specific URL content or personal identifiers. See our source code's lib/analytics.ts for exactly what is (and isn't) tracked.
Cookies and local storage
Downvido stores your Light/Dark Mode preference in your browser's local storage so it persists between visits. This stays on your device and is not sent to our servers.
Third-party platforms
Downvido reads publicly available video data from the third-party platforms listed on the Supported Sites page. Your use of those platforms is separately governed by their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the service evolves. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
